Xoán Ignacio Taibo Arias, nado en Madrid o 31 de marzo de 1949, é un escritor e sociólogo galego.

Nado na emigración madrileña de pais galegos, tomou contacto coa cultura galega en Madrid e en 1976 estableceuse en Galicia, en 1975 publicou a súa primeira obra literaria, Os inmortais, unha recolleita de tres relatos.

Catedrático de Lingua e Literatura Galega, colabora en diversas publicacións periódicas de Galicia.

É irmán de Carlos Taibo.
