Review of Dusty Innocents (1) and Delinquents (Dusty 2)

I'd like to start off by saying that I didn't plan on reviewing any books for awhile, and the authors did not ask me to review these books, but I simply fell too much in love with them not to share it with my followers. I read the story I want to say about a year or two ago off fan-fiction when it was a simple fic, but right off the bat I knew it would be more and patiently waited for the story to Read more of this blog post »

“Grief, regret, pain, and of course anger. Another loss. And when you compare this one loss to the hundreds and maybe thousands that occur people stop thinking they matter. It does matter though. Every loss matters.”
Natalie Valdes, Pinky Promise?

“There had been a computer he had also built himself on the farthest corner of the room, but he had sold that a couple of months ago to buy me a necklace. I wore it then, it was two silver hearts linked as one. That’s what he and I were, we we’re one.”
Natalie Valdes, Pinky Promise?

“Staring at my outstretched pinky questioningly his perfect lips twitched into a smile. Pinky promise?”
Natalie Valdes, Pinky Promise?

“-I don't believe in guilt, I believe in living on impulse as long as you never intentionally hurt another person, and don't judge people in your life. I think you should live completely free...”
Angelina Jolie

“You’re not asleep, and you’re not dead. I’m here, and I love you. I have always loved you, and I will always love you. I was thinking of you, seeing your face in my mind, every second that I was away. When I told you that I didn’t want you, it was the very blackest kind of blasphemy.”
Stephenie Meyer, New Moon

“I struggled to find the words to name the feelings that flooded through me, but I had no words strong enough to hold them. For a long moment, I drowned in them. When I surfaced, I was not the same man I had been. My life was an unending, unchanging midnight. It must, by necessity, always be midnight for me. So how was it possible that the sun was rising now, in the middle of my midnight?”
Stephenie Meyer, Midnight Sun [2008 Draft]

“Don't go looking for boys in the dark
They will say pretty things then
leave you with scars.
Do go looking for boys in the park
For that is where the true gentlemen are.”
Anna Godbersen, The Luxe

“There was no pleasure like being envied on a mass scale.”
Anna Godbersen, The Luxe

Natalie Valdes Putting so much emotion and experience into one story is sometimes almost physically draining. Battling the gnawing depression that comes with delivering certain emotions into your work is difficult, and I hope for god-sakes readers feel these emotions so this battle isn't for nothing.

Natalie Valdes I miss Boy Meets World, someone should write a book like the show.

Natalie Valdes Does a long review, mean it is a good review?

-Just because a review of praising a certain book is long does not make it a good review in my opinion.

Why?

After reading a 300 something (or whatever number) page book, do people in fact want to look at a long review in search of another book to read...

The answer is quite simple. No. (And I've asked several people)

In all honesty, when searching for a good book to read I first look at the amount of stars the book was given (overall), then skim to the reviews at the bottom if the overall star score was high.

Then I read a review that is no more than a paragraph long. (5-10 sentences)

In general only the authors of books enjoy long reviews that praise their work. Readers however do not.

JoJo - JJJ (Jo Anna) Janesko Thank you for the friend request. I am very eager to get my hands on your book, it sounds so intriguing. Best wishes to you.

Natalie Valdes CHAPTER ONE HAS BEEN POSTED ON MY BLOG. WHOOOP!

Nikki Ok, that's cool. I can definitely do that. You can send it to my email pnh002@gmail.com :)

Natalie Valdes Would really love to have someone review my first chapter before posting it.
=] ?

Natalie Valdes I pretty much own a library of books, and they are all books that I have read in the past. I have recently decided to re-read each one and post a review. Not sure how long this may take me considering the amount of books I own, but hopefully I can get this done!
