Cristine Caton grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She started her career as an elementary school teacher. She taught for 7 years before going on to other ventures. She ended her career as the owner of a print and copy shop where she did the layout and design for her customers using various computer graphics programs.

After retiring she decided to put both of these careers together to create the series of children’s pictures called The Adventures of Cefa the Cat. Cris did the writing and worked on the illustrations using her computer skills while her cousin, Judy Ryan, drew the characters and facial expressions.

After much writing and editing, drawing and redrawing, changing and rearranging the final product was uploaded to the print-on-demand website, CreateSpace.
Working together Cefa the Cat became a reality.

Cefa’s stories are based on the adventures of the Caton’s second Russian Blue cat. He was full of energy and got into a variety of sticky situations which made for some funny stories.

Cristine is also learning how to create interactive books for the iPad. Her first Interactive Touch Books were converted from Andy’s Day on the Farm. The first Touch Book tells the story of Andy. The main characters talk and tell their story. They, along with other images on the screen, are also self-animated or can be move by the viewer. The second Touch Books is the game section of the paperback. Each page is an interactive game, coloring page, jigsaw puzzle and more. She is working on other Interactive Touch Books too.

All of Cristine's stories are a great read for elementary students who can read by themselves or by parents for those little ones who don’t know how to read yet.

Currently Cristine and her cousin are working on additional Cefa books.
