A life-long resident of Illinois, Kathryn Flatt began writing short stories in junior high and high school and moved on to novella-length stories (handwritten), read mainly by family and friends. Her love of writing took a back seat to earning a living when she graduated high school and took a job as a typist in Chicago’s Loop. She and her husband of more than thirty years were married soon after, and together they moved around to several suburbs as they each pursued college degrees and careers.

Never Say Never

For a very long time, going way back to childhood, I thought I could be a writer. I dreamed of writing books and having them published and maybe even make a living at it.
