Luis Magrinyà nació en Palma de Mallorca en 1960 y vive en Madrid desde 1982. Estudió Letras y Fotografía. Ha trabajado como traductor, lexicógrafo y editor. Es autor de dos libros de cuentos, Los aéreos (1993) y Belinda y el monstruo (1995), de la novela Los dos Luises (Anagrama), que recibió el Premio Herralde del año 2000, y de Intrusos y huéspedes (Anagrama, 2005). Además, también desempeña las labores de editor en Alba Editorial, sello especializado en ediciones muy cuidadas de clásicos de la ficción decimonónica.
