"An Enjoyable Read
A decent story, similar to many of the same trope. The sex scenes felt very awkward - I just think male authors write very different scenes to female authors. But entertaining overall with a bit of sadness thrown in." Read more of this review » |

"enjoyable read
Solid, relatable characters. Some fairly dark themes but there is also triumph over adversity. Fair happy ending. It’s not Cheri, but that’s been done already. Interesting to read a man’s female voice. " |

I loved Caleb and I can't wait to read more of your novels. Thanks for adding me to your list of friends and thank you so much for writing Jane's Melody! I picked it up from Walmart as the novel of the month :) I'm glad I did.

I always feel like I've shared something very personal when I finish a story so to have you respond the way you did is an honor. I'm glad to see you're now reading Trevor's story. Say hello to him for me.

I can't imagine a better compliment than to have earned your recommendation of Jane's Melody to your friends.
I love that you loved Bill. I never know where these characters come from and I smiled myself when he came onto the scene. He was just what Celeb (and I) needed at the moment.
I love your idea of Naomi Watts for Jane, and I just Googled Jensen Ackles and he would make a perfect Caleb. If Hollywood ever comes calling I'm sending them your way for casting.
It was fun to follow along with your reading progress and then see it culminate in such a thoughtful review. And I'm glad you enjoy talking with authors because the only thing I enjoy more than writing is talking to readers.
Ryan.

You know I always have a tough time picking actors that could play my characters, probably because they become so real to me by the time I finish a book that I couldn't imagine anyone becoming them on screen. I'd love to hear your thoughts on casting.

They are both..."Thanks for the note, Patricia. I'm glad we've both crossed our bridges along with Trevor. Jane's Melody, my latest release, also deals some with addiction, although it's a love story and is much more sexy and much less dark.
Finally finished reading South of Bixby Bridge. Took a while because the subject was too close to home sometimes. I have had a few siblings into drugs and some of the consequences. They are both doing okay and I think for the most part they are straight. Think being the operative word. Thought the book was good and gives a different perspective to the life of an addict. Glad that he finally got to see what his life was and could be.
Thx for the good reads. You keep writing and I will keep reading :)
Tina wrote: "Hi Ryan - curious to know your input & perspective on self publishing compared to Tracey's. http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_......"Hi Tina. How are you? Thanks for the link. Looks like a lengthy write-up and I'll try to read through it when I get time. I'm the wrong person to ask about publishing as I focus all my time on the craft of writing and what little is left I spend interacting with readers. I let the business people focus on the business.
Hi Ryan - curious to know your input & perspective on self publishing compared to Tracey's. http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_... What say you my friend?
I am planning on re-reading South of Bixby Bridge, probably in June. As I told you before, the first time I read it, I was caught in some kind of insanity, reading a book a day! Although to be fair, on some of the better ones, I would slow it down to two. ; ) Anyway, I wish I had heeded your words and right then and there opened up my first Cormac McCarthy. What was I waiting for? Lord, what if I had died, lol, without having read his words! Ok, a little dramatic....maybe...maybe not. I can see now, how no other author can rise above Cormac McCarthy. (Except, maybe, possibly, kinda, sorta, the one I recommended to you? lol)
Congrat's on SOBB's bypassing "The Help" on the charts! Bravo Mr. Winfield. I'd say you've been in your tropical resting place long enough that your next masterpiece should be well into formation. I'm looking forward to reading the results.

I had submitted a review at Amazon but forgot to do so here. Sorry about that Sir. My review has now been submitted on Goodreads.
Looking forward to the outcome of your time in Hawaii. Have fun - as if you wouldn't. Enjoy your time with your lovely Fiance'.
I clicked on your video but I couldn't "see" your clip in here. I will have to take a cruise on over to FB to see it play. Of course I COULD vote yes, as that's the probable outcome anyway, but what the heck, maybe I just want to hear you read, lol.
Tina wrote: "When can we look for your 2nd novel?"Hi Tina! I'm busy writing. I recently set aside a nearly completed manuscript in favor of pursuing a story that grabbed me. In another week, I'm off to Hawaii for a month to finish it. Did you enjoy SoBB? I din't see a review on your shelf.
Mary wrote: "Yes you are at that, not were. No bones or t's about it, : ) Are we hard at work? Thinking about work? *****" Ahahaha. I meant to write: "It was easy to Like too," meaning your review. Yes, I'm hard at work staring down 400 blank pages.
