Alexandra writes mostly cosy fantasy, with a bit of contemporary romance on the side. Her debut novel THOROUGHLY DISENCHANTED won the Aurealis Award for Best Fantasy Novel 2024.

She lives and works on Bunurong land in Melbourne (Naarm) with her tennis-ball obsessed Labrador, Captain. Before turning her hand to writing, previous roles included stablehand, clown, HR assistant, flower buyer, procurement manager, cleaner and human-centred designer, which is her current day job. She might have included footballer on that list if the AFLW had arrived three decades earlier; and if she had any ability. She likes trains, books, dogs and cups of tea. Her favourite colour is green.

What a madcap, hilarious romp! Avra (chaotic ex-spy) and Teveri (Pirate captain) and Julian (hot monk vowed to celibacy) are the trio I didn’t know I needed.

The author thanks Terry Pratchett in the credits and I can see his influence in the element

Thoroughly enjoyed this dark retelling of Snow White, where Snow White is only a peripheral character and the evil stepmother is already dead. It's actually a story about a poisons doctor and her guard, with some lovely creepy elements and lots of la ...more

The first in a terrific series of long short stories featuring Sebastian Moran (tough guy who's good with a lock pick) and Jay Moriarty (super hacker).

They're ostensibly Holmesian villains brought into the modern era, and indeed Holmes and Watson ap
