Spiritual Autobiography and Resume: Oshea Davis
I grew up in a Christian home attending church regularly. God was good to me in that I remember being saved at an early age and loving Jesus Christ with a great passion. My mother was instrumental in teaching me as a young child about Christ. My Father during my early childhood had a few years of falling out with his Christianity. Yet, Jesus Christ was very mercifully to him and restored him, becoming instrumental to me in my teenage years concerning loving and knowing Jesus.
During my early to mid teens I read my bible from cover to cover. During this time I read Romans chapter 9 and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was raised mostly arminist and so this opened a whole new world regarding a Spiritual Autobiography and Resume: Oshea Davis

Yet, Jesus Christ was very mercifully to him and restored him, becoming instrumental to me in my teenage years concerning loving and knowing Jesus.
During my early to mid teens I read my bible from cover to cover. During this time I read Romans chapter 9 and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was raised mostly arminist and so this opened a whole new world regarding an aspect of the glory and beauty of God to which I had never seen. God was very kind to me in that I never resisted the doctrine of God’s total Sovereignty as proclaimed in this passage, but fully embraced it the moment I read it. Soon after this my father gave me John Piper’s book: The pleasures of God. This was during a time when I was struggling with fighting sin. Piper helped to paint the glory and fame of Jesus Christ upon such a large canvas before me that it shocked my world. I realized the best long-term way to fight sin and behold God’s glory was to know Him as deeply as I could. Out of passion to see Jesus Christ better and out of desperation to fight sin I started to read. I did not read before this time in my life because I struggled with lazy eye and other eye problems. But things had changed and the stakes were higher now. I basically read John Piper’s entire sermon library and many of his books within about a year or so. My Father who had a Masters in Systematic Theology told me not to waste my time but only read the good stuff. I turned also to the reformers and puritans; in particularly I focused on Jonathan Edwards and John Owen. Recently Vincent Cheung has been great help to me, especially in growing my faith and understanding of philosophy and ultimate questions. Not being married I have been able to devote myself to the study of the scripture with great time and effort for almost 14 years, with the study habits and principles I learned from my father.
I moved to Florida in 2003 (I was 23, 34 now) to help take care of my elderly grandmother. God taught me many things during those five years of serving that precious woman of God. During this time I had to take a job out of my career path (computers) being a security guard at a parking garage, in order to better serve my grandmother; but God’s hand was in this. I suddenly had more time on my hands and felt God’s Spirit call me to write. So I published a website(http://www.osheadavis.com) and wrote several books. One book is published and is titled: The Divine Decrees. This book John Piper endorsed on his 2007 December blog. Monergism(www.monergism.com) endorses this book and some of my articles on their website. I have Witten a 700 page 3 book volume on learning to trust God in a systematic theology format. The series is called, “Learning to Trust Infinite beauty.” Also, I have a book on philosophy or ultimate questions that is called, “The Undefeatable Worldview.” Lastly, I have been working with the Jonathan Edwards Center at the archives at Yale University to transcribe previously unpublished Jonathan Edwards Sermons focusing on Christology. I have put together my first book on this called, “The Kingdom of the Son of His Love” which contains 5 sermons and additional two of mine, with an introduction into the Christology of Edwards.
My heart’s desire is to preach a pure gospel through the talents Christ has given me.
