John Robert Allen was an educator for 30 years. After retirement he spent time formulating and researching the period from the Civil War to the year 1919. He owns a prairie style home in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State that was influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright and is the setting for the book The House of Many Windows which is a work of faction as the publishing company termed it. Mr. Allen used extensive historical information and wove it into a story about the man who built the home in 1913. Mr. Allen is the founder of the Washington Street Readers and Writers literary group that meets monthly for discussions and writing activities.
