DAVID C. EDMONDS grew up in Mississippi and Louisiana and studied at the University of Mississippi, LSU, Notre Dame, Georgetown, George Washington and American University (Ph.D. in international economics).

He's a former Marine, Peace Corps Volunteer, Senior Fulbright-Hayes Professor of Economics, and government official with long experience in Latin America. He's also been MBA director, academic dean and professor of economics at various universities.

Though LILY OF PERU is his first work of fiction, he's the author, co-author or editor of seven other nonfiction books, one of which (YANKEE AUTUMN IN ACADIANA) won the Literary Award of the Louisiana Library Association.
