Ronald J. Watkins is an American nonfiction writer, editor, and collaborator known for investigative works and historical narratives. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, he studied history and justice studies before beginning a career in public service. He worked as a probation officer and presentencing investigator for the Superior Court in Phoenix, later serving as assistant director of the Arizona Department of Insurance and the state's chief insurance fraud investigator. Watkins also held the position of chief administrative law judge.
