Jason's interest in the paranormal began from a very early age after he had a number of spooky personal experiences he found hard to explain. As mentioned in his new book 'Haunted Bodmin Moor' he was only 7 or 8 years of age when he potentially witnessed his first apparition of a woman standing at the end of his bed. Thinking it was his mother, he called out to her, only to find his mum entering the room to the left. On turning around the woman at the end of the bed was gone!
When Jason was 12 his interest encompassed UFO's and at 16 he joined BUFORA (British UFO Research Association) as a member who went out and interviewed witnesses to strange aerial events. At 21 he began investigating Ghosts and Spirits as a hobby and in 2005 Jason and fJason's interest in the paranormal began from a very early age after he had a number of spooky personal experiences he found hard to explain. At 21 he began investigating Ghosts and Spirits as a hobby and in 2005 Jason and five others co-founded Supernatural Investigations, an enthusiastic group who attempt to find reasoning or evidence for the existence of the paranormal. As a group they have operated all over the UK and are proud to be affiliated with the now recognised professional Body ASSAP (Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena). Supernatural Investigations are also one of only a handful of groups in the UK to be affiliated with Ghost-Hunters in the USA.
One of many most frightening experiences happened at Bodmin Jail during an investigation as documented in Jason's first book, 'Paranormal Cornwall'. During one of the breaks he decided to take himself off down to the Naval wing to get some delayed exposure shots of the entrance way against the moonlight. He set up the tripod and camera inside and set the camera lens to open for 1 minute. As Jason clicked the button to take the picture a small pebble-like stone hit him on the head and rolled onto the floor. When looking up you notice that the Naval wing did not have a roof and that this stone must have come from one of the topmost cells on either side. The realisation that he was alone suddenly dawned on him as he recognised the fact that this stone couldn't have just fallen from the cells above, it had to have been thrown.
'Haunted Bodmin Moor' took a year to write and research although a quite a bit of information in the book are eye witness accounts and experiences that, as an investigations team, they have endured over the years of investigating famous Bodmin Moor landmarks. ...more
