Katy is an aspiring novelist, self-confessed nerd, and habitual wanderer of the planet Earth.

In 2013 she was selected as a New and Emerging Writer to appear at the Edinburgh International Book Festival where she read an extract of her novel-in-progress to a live audience and got to hang out in the author tent with the likes of Neil Gaiman and Ian Rankin (though naturally she was far too starstruck to say anything cool or profound). She has completed a Masters in Creative Writing, a Diploma of Professional Book Editing, Proofreading & Publishing, a Graduate Diploma in Professional Writing, a Bachelor of Languages and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons).

When she’s not putting pen to paper for her first fantasy fiction novel, latest travel writing or sh

“War is not just the business of death, it is the antitheses of life.”
joss whedon ( Fray)

Robin Hobb
“The second thing you have to do to be a writer is to keep on writing. Don't listen to people who tell you that very few people get published and you won't be one of them. Don't listen to your friend who says you are better that Tolkien and don't have to try any more. Keep writing, keep faith in the idea that you have unique stories to tell, and tell them. I meet far too many people who are going to be writers 'someday.' When they are out of high school, when they've finished college, after the wedding, when the kids are older, after I retire . . . That is such a trap You will never have any more free time than you do right now. So, whether you are 12 or 70, you should sit down today and start being a writer if that is what you want to do. You might have to write on a notebook while your kids are playing on the swings or write in your car on your coffee break. That's okay. I think we've all 'been there, done that.' It all starts with the writing. ”
Robin Hobb

Terry Pratchett
“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.”
Terry Pratchett, Diggers

Robin Hobb
“Very little worth knowing is taught by fear.”
Robin Hobb, Assassin's Apprentice

“I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things I'm afraid of. ”
Joss Whedon
