Hi Rose - thanks for reading the Suburban Strange books, and thanks for getting in touch!

You're right - there are some significant questions left unanswered at the end of Pull Down the Night, and some tantalizing hints about future events. I did that on purpose because I have a strong sense of the story continuing, and I would love to continue writing in the Suburban Strange universe.

However... publishing is a business as much as it is a creative enterprise (as I'm sure you know), and as of now, I'm not sure whether the publisher has an interest in additional Suburban Strange titles. There are any number of reasons for that, and who knows, their interest may change at any time. But for now I have been focusing on other writing projects, which I hope will see the light of day before too much longer.

I know that is not a very satisfying answer. Just know this: I am by no means finished writing stories, and I have a great respect for you as a reader. I certainly wouldn't leave a story unfinished if it were up to me. Hopefully I will have something else to whet your appetite sooner than later.

All best,

That puts a target on them, however, and they find themselves pursued, abducted, freed, aided, and betrayed by a number of mysterious people - some of whom many have been around for several thousand years - whose motivations aren't always clear. Hoping to finish this one this fall. (Not a part of the Suburban Strange series.)(less)

“I think great art is like a miracle. It shows us things we wouldn’t have imagined ourselves. It makes us see the world differently. It makes things we thought were impossible, possible.”
Nathan Kotecki, The Suburban Strange

“Faith is such a strange gift. And I think it is a gift. For those of us who receive it, it is the best gift we could ever hope to have, and it is so tempting to assume everyone has it, or to wish it for everyone else. And when we meet someone who has lost it, or maybe never even had it, it’s so tempting to say, ‘You must ask for this gift, pray for it, because it will comfort you, and help you through your life, the way it comforts me and helps me through mine.’ But that’s condescending, isn’t it? To tell someone they should ask a higher power in which they don’t believe to help them to know something of which they are skeptical, and to do it without any tangible proof. It’s absurd. “I believe you can live your life without religion, even without faith, and be a good, strong, upright person. I’ve seen many people do it. But I also will pray for you, because if you can be at home in your faith, I think your life will be richer, and even more meaningful.”
Nathan Kotecki, Pull Down the Night
