ISABELLA FISCHER, writer, designer, filmaker and photographer started taking photographs at the age of 6 when given a Voigtlaender camera, an old 1959 vintage model by her uncle. Born in Europe, she lived most of her life in different African countries, working in the field of sustainable development. At present she owns the Design Company Chocolat Negro, based in South Africa, that is specializing in recycled design and art. One of her major projects is "The Mdantsane Way", the first photographic documentary about the second biggest and so far undiscovered township in South Africa, named Mdantsane.
