Escritor español nacido en Zaragoza en 1962, Javier Sebastián es licenciado en Filología Hispánica por la Universidad de Zaragoza. Ha ejercido como profesor en programas de escritura creativa y también en el máster en Gestión de Políticas y Proyectos Culturales de la universidad en la que se formó. Reside en Barcelona.

Ha escrito varios libros de cuentos, pero destacan sobre todo sus novelas. Debutó con La casa del calor en 1990 y siguió publicando obras como El hombre constante, Historia del invierno y Veinte semanas. Fue al ver la luz El ciclista de Chernóbil que Sebastián ganó reconocimiento crítico; el libro fue galardonado con el Premio Cálamo al Libro del Año 2011 y el Prix de l’Europe de novela en 2014.
