“Phoenix yawns loudly and growls quietly when she exhales. "Wow, you must be really tired, huh?" I joke with her and watch a gentle smile form on her face, barely revealing the tips of her fangs. Phoenix rests her hands on her chest and stretches out her left wing before resting it back over her body. "Well do forgive me, your highness. But after all that flying and saving your bum twice in one day, yes, I'm quite exhausted." She teases back and laughs before sitting comfortably against the tree. Phoenix looks at me for a brief moment and I watch her eyes graze past mine as if something catches her attention behind me.”

“Riverlynn would pick fights with those who bullied me and I love her for that, even though she’d take it too far sometimes, but who was I to stop her when I was afraid to do it myself? One day, I heard someone say I’d be the reason if the kingdom ever falls and Riverlynn didn’t hesitate to punch him right in the temple, causing him to have two black eyes the next day.  Our parents never endorse violence, but when it comes down to us standing up for each other, they let it pass occasionally. Those who spoke poorly of me didn’t understand that it wasn’t anyone’s fault, it was a natural occurrence. As much as I try to ignore any negativity, their words still run through my mind daily, causing me to fall into a very dark trap. I know to never let their words get to me but what can I say? I’m only human. Everyone who has ever tried to bring me down will realize I’m so much more than the challenges that hold me back.”
