Maria Fox is a former literature professor. After many rewarding years of reading, thinking, writing, and talking about others’ stories, she now writes her own.
Handsome and Hideous (2025) is her first novel. It won Gold (First Place) for Fantasy (Unpublished, Book-Length) at the 2024 Royal Palm Literary Awards, sponsored by the Florida Writers Association.
If she is not writing stories, Maria may be found birding, crocheting, reading, crossword-puzzling, watching Carolina basketball, or repelling persistent Florida wildlife from her house.
