Rubén Ruibal (Ribadeo, 1970) formouse no mundo do teatro durante os dez anos que colaborou con Roberto Vidal Bolaño na compañía Teatro do Aquí.

En 2000 formou, xunto con Carlos Losada, a compañía Teatro Cachuzo, que levou á escena os seus textos teatrais Fume (2000) e Nunca durmo, de Erik Cachuzo (2003).

Patatín & Patatán Superproductions representou as súas obras Trafic; arroz mubi (2004) e ¡Triumfadores! (2005).

Logo do peche da compañía Teatro do Aquí, tras a morte de Vidal Bolaño, dedicouse a escribir, logrando en 2005 o Premio Álvaro Cunqueiro con Limpeza de Sangue (o sangue fai ruído). Este texto recibiu tamén o Premio María Casares ó mellor texto orixinal en 2011.
