As the daughter of a retired sailor from the United States Navy, Laura Braley has lived all over the United States, but currently calls Virginia Beach home.

Laura describes her motivation to write, "I have to write. It's like breathing to me. All of these characters are bouncing around in my head, dying to tell me their stories. I just give them a voice."
