“fortificados que se extendía desde Asunción hacia el sur, hasta debajo de Humaitá. El tratado del 15 de julio de 1852, que estableció los límites entre el Paraguay y la Confederación Argentina en las Misiones, también implícitamente reconocía la soberanía paraguaya sobre todos los territorios del Chaco al norte del río Bermejo. En su artículo 4 se estableció que el río Paraguay pertenecía de orilla a orilla en absoluta soberanía a la República del Paraguay hasta su conjunción con el Paraná.
