Stephen Thomas Wright was an American professional football player who was an offensive tackle for five teams in the National Football League (NFL). He also played for the Chicago Fire of the WFL in 1974. Wright played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He never started a game for Alabama, but was selected in the fifth round of the 1964 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers, as well as the New York Jets in the eighth round of the American Football League draft; although New York offered a blank check, the prospect of playing for Green Bay proved to factor in his decision. Wright started in 43 of 101 games in nine seasons in the NFL.
