Good but not remarkable. Five stars for content, Dunkirk/Battle of Britain especially gripping, but three stars for writing. I don’t feel as though I know Al Deere any better. Read it for Dunkirk/BoB.

Brilliant book which covers 30 clandestine pick up and drop off Lysander missions and being shot down in a Spitfire and making an epic escape back to Britain in just 75 pages. I only wish there was more!

Fine as an introduction to the Eagle Squadrons and the Americans who fought for the RAF before their country was at war. For such a potentially inspiring group of characters I just didn’t really get into and was left pretty flat.
