His novels are great. Stream of consciousness style autofiction and he other novels are multi story.

I read one of James Frey’s how to books about writing, can’t remember which but it was very good on the topic of premise in a novel or story.
I've read Jon Ronson's Them and The Men Who Stared at Goats. I find his style a little irritating but maybe he uses humour to soften the impact. The "Goats" book is as scary as hell!
