I love stories, and I think it's something the world needs more than anything else.

I want you to lose yourself in the worlds I create, and hear the voices of my characters long after the tale is told. Most of all, I want to turn you into relentless readers, and keep you turning the page.

Hopefully you like my stories, and you'll stay awhile.

dies laboris interruptus

Day job interrupts... writing.I have a good job that's interesting and keeps me busy (and pays the bills). But it keeps me from writing, creating, storytelling. Like many authors, I'd like to be able to sustain and make my living through this writing that brings me joy (and frustration so often!). Our society offers that to precious few despite my desire for people to be able to make their living Read more of this blog post »

Stephen King
“If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
Stephen King

Ray Bradbury
“It was a pleasure to burn.
It was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed. With the brass nozzle in his fists, with this great python spitting its venomous kerosene upon the world, the blood pounded in his head, and his hands were the hands of some amazing conductor playing all the symphonies of blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history. With his symbolic helmet numbered 451 on his stolid head, and his eyes all orange flame with the thought of what came next, he flicked the igniter and the house jumped up in a gorging fire that burned the evening sky red and yellow and black. He strode in a swarm of fireflies. He wanted above all, like the old joke, to shove a marshmallow on a stick in the furnace, while the flapping pigeon-winged books died on the porch and lawn of the house. While the books went up in sparkling whirls and blew away on a wind turned dark with burning.”
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

Stephen King
“I think that we're all mentally ill. Those of us outside the asylums only hide it a little better - and maybe not all that much better after all.”
Stephen King

Edgar Allan Poe
“I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.”
Edgar Allan Poe

Edgar Allan Poe
“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”
Edgar Allan Poe
