Amy Dang is a Vietnamese-American mother of two and a children’s book author based in Portland, Oregon. Like many parents raising bilingual kids, she often found herself stuck between translating every line from English to Vietnamese, or watching her partner make a guess when their kids asked him to read a Vietnamese book for them.

That experience inspired her to create Little Ears, publisher for Vietnamese-English children’s books that make reading together easy, inclusive, and fun. Her mission is to help families, like hers, keep Vietnamese alive at home, celebrate their cultural roots, and bring the whole family into the joy of storytime.

Amy Đặng, đến từ thành phố Portland (tiểu bang Oregon), là một người mẹ Việt tại Mỹ và là một người viết sách song ngữ cho thiếu nhi. Amy nhận thấy sự thiếu nhất quán và rào cản ngôn ngữ trong việc dịch sách thiếu nhi từ tiếng Anh sang Tiếng Việt cho các con hàng ngày. Cùng với đó, cô thấy được sự ngần ngại của chồng cô khi các bé yêu cầu ba (một người không biết Tiếng Việt) đọc các sách được viết bằng Tiếng Việt cho bé.
Nhận ra sự cần thiết của sách song ngữ Việt-Anh cho những gia đình đa văn hóa như trường hợp của gia đình cô, Amy đã lập nên Little Ears, nơi xuất bản các đầu sách song ngữ để các thành viên trong gia đình cùng đọc chung với nhau. Qua đó, Amy hi vọng các gia đình có thể lưu giữ và học hỏi Tiếng Việt qua từng trang sách, kết nối với cội nguồn và văn hóa Việt Nam.
