I’m HenLee—Southwest Atlanta born and raised, from back when Freaknik could turn a regular afternoon into an unexpected adventure and nobody questioned it. I came up surrounded by storytellers: mamas, aunties, elders, and neighbors who taught me rhythm, humor, and truth long before I ever worried about chapters or structure.

My pen name, HenLee, is a love letter to my parents—now my heavenly ancestors—whose names I carry and whose presence I feel every time I sit down to write. They gave me my foundation: the grit, the laughter, the softness, and the sense of home that lives on the page.
