Colleen Morrissey was born in Omaha, Nebraska. She achieved her B.A. in English at the University of Iowa and her M.A. in English literature at the University of Kansas. She is currently working toward her Ph.D. at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Her story “Good Faith” is included in The O. Henry Prize Stories 2014 and was named as a Best American Short Stories 2013 Notable. Her story “Loveland” recently won first runner-up in the Tennessee Williams Fiction Contest. Her fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in the Cincinnati Review, Southeast Review,, Alaska Quarterly Review, Monkeybicycle (print and audio), and elsewhere; her nonfiction has appeared in Confrontation; and her poetry has appeared in Parcel and Blue Island Revie ...more

Three Poems forthcoming in Third Coast

Woke up to thrilling news that three of my poems will appear in Third Coast! These poems are part of a series called Poems for Ghost Women, where I explore the lives and perspectives of bad, weird, and sad women of the past. These three are about Sarah Winchester, Georgia Tann, and Isobel Gowdie. Very excited to have them at such a good home.
