William Craig was born to a door-to-door Bible salesman and a substitute teacher who both went on to become bestselling authors. Not surprisingly, he's a great believer in crooked paths and second chances.
A journalist, musician and professor of history and humanities, Craig traveled to Cuba in search of the lost legacy of the United States' first overseas imperial war. His first book, "Yankee Come Home," is a memoir of travel through Cuba's fabled Oriente Province, through battlefields and baseball stadiums, police interrogations and spirit-possession rituals, connecting the US and Cuban present to the history of the Spanish-American War.
