As a young child Dawn Shallis lived in Brittany, French Algeria and Somerset. She was educated in Bristol and North Wales, followed by two years in Lebanon and Jordan in her early twenties. She has spent much of her adult life in the south of France, and is now based in Devon, where she works as a legal translator. No Other Way is her first published novel.
