“You love with a fierce courage that I do not understand, and yet I wish that I could have it too.”
Douglas Patten

“It is our ability to love that makes us most like the Creator…but to love in the face of loss and pain makes us more like God than ever.”
Douglas Patten, Olde Mysterium

“Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.”
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

“It is our ability to love that makes us most like the Creator…but to love in the face of loss and pain makes us more like God than ever.”
Douglas Patten, Olde Mysterium
