Mona Adkisson was born in Lewisville, Arkansas, the oldest daughter of a single parent mother. She began her lifelong search for answers at age seven as she attended a little Missionary Baptist Church in south Arkansas. Her mother would stand on the front porch and watch as Mona took her little sister by the hand and walked the short distance down Highway 29 to church on Sunday mornings. There, she and her sister found the love of Christ. After attending college at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Mona transferred to the University of Oklahoma where she met and married the love of her life, Sam.
