Allan Partington has lived in north Wales for forty-seven years. He is retired from careers as a quantity surveyor, further education lecturer, manager and self-employed construction consultant.

His passion for local history has led to this novel, Bitter Slate, a tale of the Parrys in 1890s and a prequel to the family's exploits in the First World War. These came in the form of We're Here Because We're Here and Back to Blighty, published in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
