I have a thing for books about power. Whether it's historical heroes/heroines who empower themselves when society tries to push them down or characters who discover alternate worlds where they can do the impossible, chances are these books will call me to either write or read them.

I tend to go for "genius" voices that step away from the norm. A narrator I can enjoy is one that is not afraid to tell its story in a way that has not been done before.
