It took me a long time to get round to writing The Girl with the Haunting Smile (or any novel, for that matter - I had always felt more suited to sprints than marathons).
Before that, I learned some of the tricks of the author's trade by writing two TV dramas which were shown on BBC and ITV and two short stories that were published in national anthologies.
I now know that a novel is less of a marathon than I feared, so I'm in the later stages of writing another one, Spring Chicken. All I'm saying for now is that it's an inspirational tale for our times and it isn't about poultry.

Until I saw the film, I had forgotten the importance of Wilmington NC as a strategic shipping port in the Civil War. By August 1864, when Mobile, Alabama fell to Union forces, Wilmington had beco

Richard Louden Hi Oz It's good to be friends with you. I'm a bit too much of a newbie to offer you quality advice on ebook publishing but you can find lots of good advice on sites like the World Literary Cafe and Digital Book Today. Best of luck with your project!

We can all use all the friends we can get - so thanks for the invite! :-)
With regards to law (and asses) - it's a bit like titles. Song titles, movie titles - book titles. You can't be held to have violated IP if you use, quote or repeat a title - but may the blind lady be your guardian if you quote or use so much as one line from, say, a song lyric without permission.
But then - that's how the law is. Asking it to make sense may just be a quick train to nowhere :-).
Oh - and give Sauchiehall a wave for me next time you're passing? Me da' was a Glesgae laddie, or so I'm told :-)
