Nato nel 1925, a 15 anni ha iniziato a lavorare presso la stazione sperimentale di Floricoltura di Sanremo per il professor Mario Calvino (padre di Italo), ha trascorso molti anni in Inghilterra, dove si è occupato del giardino botanico Myddleton House ed è stato ricercatore dell’Università di Londra. Dopo essere tornato in Italia si è occupato dei 40 ettari del Parco di Villa Gernetto a Lesmo. Ha viaggiato in molti paesi d'Europa e dell'Asia e ha a curato pubblicazioni e scritto sulle più importanti riviste italiane e straniere dedicate ai fiori ed al giardinaggio.
Oggi, pensionato, continua a viaggiare e tenere conferenze in tutte le parti del bel paese, spiegando il valore delle erbe e trasmettendo ai più giovani il suo amore per le piant ...more
