I'm a software engineer and author living near Joplin, MO. I love reading, cinema, TV, coding, and messing around on the guitar — pretending I can play things I cannot — and writing speculative fiction, currently the Moon Gun Sam series.

I have a wonderful wife, daughter, three dogs, and two cats. I write what I feel, and the people I miss in this world inspire the characters in my writing.

I've been told I have a crazy sense of humor. Or maybe that I'm crazy and they think that's funny. I'm not sure.

It was great, but not as emotionally engaging. The tears will sneak up on you in the end. What I found captivating was Vera and Luz's dichotomy. This book is a serious study of oppression and how people try to move away from it. It's not quite nihili ...more
