Nicholas Jobe is a librarian, former English teacher, and storyteller who enjoys bending genres until they squeak. His fiction blends sci-fi, fantasy, and horror with introspective questions, unexpected structures, and a playful sense of experimentation. He loves treating stories like creative playgrounds—writing action like movie scenes, then tugging at the edges of structure to see what happens. His work jumps between perspectives and timelines, blurs reality with words, and questions how to tell a blockbuster story in unconventional ways.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: A Franchise Look

I always knew A Series of Unfortunate Events had a big fan base, enough to garner a failed film adaptation and a more successful Netflix series (by the same producer). My daughter, who is 10, and I were looking for audiobooks to listen to while in the car as she was getting more and more into fiction. It wasnt the same tier as books 5-7, but I still really enjoyed it. This one moves very fast, and by design. It's missing a little flair somewhere, but it does make up for it in the third act. And that chapter... you know the one... requires audioboo ...more
