John O’Sullivan received his Ph.D. in 1970 from Columbia University and came to Florida Atlantic University in 1971. John was a gifted teacher, scholar and colleague. Following his arrival at Florida Atlantic University, John received numerous research fellowships including ones from The American Philosophical Society, the American Historical Association, and the Sloan Foundation.
