François Sully was a French journalist, photographer and author who was one of the longest-serving journalists to cover the wars in Indo-China during the latter half of the 20th century. He spent nearly 24 years in Indo-China, and at the time of his death in 1971 he was viewed as the "dean" of the Saigon press corps.
Sully was born in France, joined the Résistance as a teenager, and was wounded on his seventeenth birthday while engaging in combat with German forces during the liberation of Paris.
