David Baker



David Baker is a freelance publishing consultant and materials writer. He was Publishing Manager for ELT Grammar and Reference at Oxford University Press from 1999 to 2004, in which role he managed and edited the third edition of Michael Swan’s Practical English Usage.

David began his ELT career in Paris, where for several years he taught Business English and ESP in a number of French multinational companies. He was also a teaching assistant at the University of Paris. After completing a Master’s degree in English and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge, he joined the ELT Division of Oxford University Press in 1991.
