Chicago native, April Preyar, is a practicing attorney. Preyar is currently a partner and co-owner of the Shiller*Preyar Law Offices, a boutique law firm, specializing in criminal defense, police misconduct and personal injury law and immigration.

Preyar graduated from Duke University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish. She earned her law degree from George Washington University Law School.

Preyar is the author of three books. She released her first book, Melancholy Blue: Psalms of Soulful Sadness, a poetry compilation of original poetry, while still a law student in Washington, D.C.
