John Forrest, of Orillia, is a retired teacher, principal, and director of education. He has had eight stories published in five separate volumes of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and others in Reminisce, Good Old Days, Copper's, A Cup of Comfort for Inspiration, and The Front Porch. In 2007 Scrivener Press published his Angels, Stars, and Trees: Tales of Christmas Magic. Forrest has won story competitions held by the Toronto Sun, the Orillia Packet and Times, and the Owen Sound Sun Times.
