Colby Hopkins, is an independent researcher, writer, and activist. He studied history and political science at the University of Rhode Island and recently graduated from New York University with a Master’s in Global Affairs where he specialized in international economic development and human rights. He has participated in many activist events and demonstrations including a nonviolent, civil disobedience at the White House in 2006 to oppose the war in Iraq and Operation First Casualty with Iraq Veterans Against the War. He was an organizer with Occupy Wall Street in New York City’s Liberty Square and the West Harlem 99% from September 2011 until August of 2012 when he moved to Palestine to teach English.
