I grew up in New York and Connecticut and a connection with nature has always played an important part in my life. I played outdoors all the time in the woods and rivers of southeastern CT. In the summer when we visited my grandparents in western Pennsylvania, I loved the view of the rolling hills filled with a patchwork of farms.

When I moved to Bethlehem, I fell in love with the farms here and became involved in preserving them. My essays celebrating Connecticut farm life have been published in Edible Nutmeg and Litchfield County Times. I wrote this book because I wanted to share a story of a successful farm that is an important part of our small-town community, as well as highlight the deeper meaning of farming in our culture, and the cur ...more
