Blinded ThoughtsI already knew what time it was, but my hundred meter sprint for the exit was cut short by Mr. Frazier, who stood there blocking the doorway with his body.
My great escape was short-lived. I remembered seeing these same people come for my very good friend, Chuck, a couple of months earlier. He had them running behind him all over the school, as all of us students stood at the classroom doors cheering him on as he ran through the hallways. Chuck ran like a rabbit being pursued by a coyote as the people running behind him were falling all over the place trying to catch him. They finally had to call the cops, who caught him out on the baseball field.
Chuck was the man! He had become famous in our school. After that day, we started calling him “Chuck, the rabbit” but he never did come back to school to cash in on his sudden popularity.
