M.J. Instone Review posted on the Army Rumour Service this weekend (http://www.arrse.co.uk/content/1664-c...)

So first of all congratulations Mr Instone, for getting your book out. So many regular authors and first timers are not getting a look in during the current credit crunch so perseverance and tenacity have won this particular day.

This is a rip roaring tale in the style of a modern John Buchan, you know one man against the odds. This one man in particular kept reminding me of Rodger Moore in the movie the Wild Geese and I can assure you that this would make a great movie in that vein too.

The story has more twists and turns than a Turkish belly dancer and keeps you thinking. Such amusing references as “Bolivian Marching Powder” and “in” military jokes remind me that Mr Instone has served both in Fred Karnos’ and the British Army.

That is not to divert us from the plot which I won’t spoil here of course but I did find the climax a bit Ruff and the finale damn well annoying to say the least. So annoying that I want first dibs on the sequel or I shall have to go out and spend some of my hard earned cash buying it!

M.J. Instone Latest review by MaryAnn posted on Amazon.com and Goodreads, September 3, 2013

Format: Paperback

I liked Captain James Diamond, who is a believable character with a believable problem. This story is moving and full of intrigue. I hate to break from reading at any time. Great mystery. The suspense had me on the edge of my chair!

This is the first M. J. Instone novel that I have read, the book is explosive! His writing style works really well with the genre, using an economy of words that effectively tells the story, defines the characters and moves the plot along at a pace that left me breathless.
