No overt sex, no bodice ripping, just a good, clean story with great dialogue with an undercurrent of passion. If there is a duke or duchess or even a commoner, a strong female heroine, an equally strong, but not overbearing male hero and the chance of some romantic entanglements, I’m all for it. “Forgiveness was such a tricky business. One could forgive with all sincerity one moment and then be overcome by feelings of anger and ill-use the next.”
Claudia Harbaugh, Her Grace in Disgrace

“I do not think we change who we essentially are. We simply learn to wear masks that protect us from our own vulnerability and present a face that society wants to see. We call it our duty, but it is really a means of hiding our true selves in order to pass muster.”
Claudia Harbaugh, Her Grace in Disgrace

“As to my past, I cannot dispute you, but it is my past. I am determined my future will not bear any resemblance to it.”
Claudia Harbaugh, Her Grace in Disgrace

Claudia Harbaugh It's a pleasure to meet you, Lucinda. Her Grace in Disgrace will be winging it's way to you, soon. Though it will take a bit longer to reach the UK! The male protagonist in the book was a vicar who had a living in Surrey! I do hope you enjoy the book and would be thrilled if you wrote a review for it here on Goodreads and on Amazon as well.
Look forward to more chatting with you,
Claudia

Claudia Harbaugh You're welcome Jill! I do love both of those authors and reread their books even though I know the ending!

message 1: by Jill

Jill Lovely to meet another Elizabeth Peters, and Agatha Christie fan, Claudia, and thank you very much for your friendship.
