When I started out writing my author bios, I stuck to the usual stuff: my name, where I went to school, what I had published and my contact info.

Then, I started reading advice on being more engaging and interesting, so I tried my hand at being both, throwing in little-known facts about myself, what makes me interesting (what does?), etc. Things like the fact that I wrote my first full-length novel at 13, even sending it to a dozen publishers and getting rejected by all of them. Or the fact that I went back to school in my early 30s to study creative writing and immerse myself for the first time into what I loved. Which leads to me the second phase of my author bio adventure.
