Thomas Hayden grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and currently lives in San Francisco, California. He is a journalist and nonfiction author of articles and books related to science (especially evolution and ecology), the environment and sustainability, and the interplay between science, environmental issues and culture. He teaches writing, journalism and sustainability science at Stanford University. He also has an interest in health and medicine, Canadian-American relations and contemporary Native American/First Nations issues.
